Your surfbar stays empty? Here's how to get your earnings back!
You want to visit websites, but your surfbar and click ads are suddenly completely empty? That's frustrating. The most common reason: Your device did not pass the automatic AdScore security check. This system checks in the background whether your connection is suitable. Don't worry — this can usually be fixed quickly!
What is AdScore?
AdScore is an external service for verifying traffic quality. eBesucher uses AdScore as part of the connection test to ensure that visitors come from genuine, clean connections. AdScore automatically analyzes your internet connection and evaluates whether the visits are regular and trustworthy.
The test is performed automatically as part of the connection test. You don't need to start anything manually.
What does the connection test check?
The connection test analyzes several aspects.
1. VPN and proxy detection
AdScore checks whether the internet connection is routed through a VPN service or proxy server. Connections routed through VPNs or proxies can be classified as not clean, since they conceal the true origin of the visitor.
2. IP address and network
The IP origin is analyzed. It is checked whether the origin belongs to known data centers, hosting providers, or suspicious networks. Connections from data centers (instead of private internet connections) are often rated as untrustworthy.
3. Outdated browsers and device detection
Outdated, suspicious, or manipulated browser configurations can cause the connection to be classified as suspicious.
4. Automation
Your browser must not be remotely controlled, and a physical screen is a prerequisite for using the surfbar and click ads.
What can I do if I don't pass the test?
If your connection is not classified as clean, there are several steps you can take:
Disable VPN or proxy
The most common cause of a negative rating is the use of a VPN service or proxy server. Disable these and connect directly through your internet connection.
Tip: Browser extensions such as ad blockers with built-in proxy or "safe browsing" features can also route your connection through a proxy without you realizing it. Check your installed browser extensions and disable suspicious add-ons.
Use a private internet connection
Connections from data centers or cloud servers (e.g., VPS, dedicated servers) are almost always detected as not clean. Use a private DSL, cable, or mobile connection.
Update browser and drivers
- Always use the latest version of your browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge). Outdated browser versions can be classified as suspicious.
- Keep your operating system up to date and install available updates.
- Update your graphics card and network drivers. Outdated drivers can cause certain browser functions to not work correctly, leading the connection to be flagged as suspicious.
Disable suspicious browser extensions
- Disable extensions that alter your browser identity.
- Make sure JavaScript is enabled.
- Do not use automation software such as Selenium or Puppeteer.
Change IP address
Sometimes it helps to renew your IP address. You can try:
- Restarting your router to get a new IP address (with most DSL connections).
- On a mobile connection, briefly switching airplane mode on and off.
Do not use restarter software on servers
If you are running a restarter on a VPS or dedicated server, the server's IP address will be detected as a data center. eBesucher is designed to be used on a local PC or laptop with a private internet connection.
Check firewall and antivirus software
Some firewall or antivirus programs route internet traffic through a local proxy to filter it. This can cause your connection to be detected as a proxy connection. Check your security software settings and, if necessary, disable web filtering or HTTPS scanning.
Summary: Checklist for a successful test
| Criterion | Recommendation |
|---|---|
| VPN / Proxy | Completely disable |
| Internet connection | Private connection (DSL, cable, mobile) |
| Browser | Use the latest version (Chrome, Firefox, Edge) |
| Operating system | Install all updates |
| Drivers | Update graphics and network drivers |
| Browser extensions | Disable suspicious extensions |
| JavaScript | Must be enabled |
| Security software | Check web filtering / HTTPS scanning |
| Automation | Do not use remote control software |
| Server / VPS | Do not use — use a local PC |

If you have made changes to your connection (e.g., disabled VPN), you need to clear your browser cookies so that a new test can be performed.
