Third Country Transfer: Data is processed on servers in the USA. Tawk.to is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, ensuring an adequate level of data protection. We have also concluded a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) with the provider.

Phone Verification via didit.me
We use the service didit.me to verify your phone number. The provider is Didit Identity Spain, S.L., Calle Nápoles 227, P. 1, 08013 Barcelona, Spain for users in the EEA, and Didit Identity, Inc., 1111B S Governors Ave STE 34855, Dover, Delaware 19904, USA for users outside the EEA.
Purpose & Legal Basis: Verifying your phone number serves to prevent multiple accounts and abuse of our service and to increase the security of your user account. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in preventing abuse and fraud pursuant to Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR, as well as the performance of the user agreement pursuant to Art. 6 (1) lit. b GDPR.
Data Processing: When you start a phone verification, we transmit only the phone number you entered to didit.me. On our behalf, didit.me then sends an SMS containing a one-time confirmation code and checks the code you enter. No other data from your user account – such as name, address or email address – is transmitted. No identity check based on identity documents or biometric data takes place.
Processing on our Behalf & Third Country Transfer: didit.me processes the data exclusively on our instructions as a processor pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. Where processing takes place outside the EU/EEA, it is based on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
Storage Duration: The confirmation code is valid for five minutes and expires afterwards. We store your phone number for as long as your user account exists; it is removed when the account is deleted.
