The rock city Petra is situated in Jordan and is a unique cultural monument due to its grave temples with their facades excavated directly from the rocks. This city is listed as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage since 1985. Petra is also regarded as one of the most significant sights of the Middle East. There are about 800 monuments that are influenced by Nabatean, Greek-Hellenic and Roman style. For tourists the Roman theatre with 45 rows of seats might be of interest. In the North of the theatre there is the so-called "King Wall" which consists of 13 monumental grave temples which are interpreted as king graves due to their looks.
